This I believe…

Okay….
What does that mean?

By Thriving Families, My priority is to enhance the quality of life for families within our community. We will achieve this by increasing recreational opportunities, improving municipal services, and fostering a sense of community through family-friendly events and amenities like festivals, arts infrastructure, parks, and public gatherings. In addition, we help families thrive by keeping our neighborhoods safe and secure to nurture and grow a family by keeping crime, blighted structures, and dangerous transportation out of our city (see safe communities below).

By Prospering Businesses, I mean supporting our local businesses is crucial for economic growth and vitality. I am committed to streamlining bureaucratic processes, simplifying zoning requirements, and increasing accountability to make it easier for entrepreneurs and investors to start and sustain businesses in our community. Additionally, I will be responsive to the needs of business owners and provide support when necessary to foster a healthy business environment. I hope as a member of Council, I can increase the transparency and responsiveness of our local government to those who invest and live here.

By Safe Communities, I mean ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents is my top priority. We will invest in infrastructure improvements to enhance walkability and bikeability, as well as prioritize the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and pathways to create a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, alike. Additionally, I advocate for the continued investment in law enforcement training, technology, and equipment to maintain high standards of public safety and retain our top-tier officers. I have been privileged to serve as their chaplain for six years, and Kennesaw has the best officers in the state. We must invest to continue that legacy.

What are your priorities?

1. Thriving Families:

2. Prospering Businesses:

3. Safe Communities:

What about downtown…?

Kennesaw's downtown is a mess compared to nearby cities. The main problem is that rules aren't followed, and some property owners get away with neglecting their buildings. This makes our main street look run-down and hurts our city.

We need to fix this right away. As soon as I start, I'll work with business owners, property owners, and city officials to find solutions.

We have to make sure everyone follows the rules and takes care of their properties. By working together and listening to everyone's ideas, we can make our downtown a better place for everyone.

Let's work together to clean up Kennesaw's downtown and make it a place we can all be proud of.

What about “Wildman’s”?

Wildman's is an embarrassment to our community, perpetuating racism and xenophobia, which are moral evils that must be stopped through legal means.

However, the tactics employed by my fellow candidate, Anthony, and his backers, former councilwoman Cris Eaton Welsh and [name removed by request], to bully and harass a licensed and compliant business and then claim to be running a “clean campaign based on the issues” are morally indefensible (as well as transparently laughable). Using government pressure to strongarm businesses is unacceptable and shameful. “Two wrongs do not make a right.”

There are legal avenues to address concerns about Wildman's. If elected, I will extend an invitation to Marjorie to collaborate on setting clear standards to eradicate the racist practices inherited and perpetuated by Wildman's. I urge my opponents to join me in committing to end bullying tactics and instead engage in constructive dialogue to foster positive change in our community. Let's stop the harassment and start proactively working towards a better future for all.

What makes you qualified to be our representative?

I am honored to be considered for a seat on the city council. My candidacy stems from the encouragement of local business owners and city officials who recognize my commitment to service and improving our community. Service runs deep in my veins, being raised by a career paramedic and minister, instilling in me a strong sense of duty to others.

Having started as a business owner and political consultant, my journey led me to Georgia to pursue seminary and devote myself to serving the Episcopal Church. Over the years, I've served on nonprofit boards, initiated literacy programs benefiting public school students, and served as a chaplain to our police department in Kennesaw since 2018.

Integrity, efficiency, and prioritizing the greater good have always guided my actions. I am committed to bringing these values to the city council, working tirelessly to address the needs of our community and ensure a prosperous future for all residents.
